Simple Swaps for a Healthier 2020
Out with the old, in with the new! As people get ready to say goodbye to 2019 and welcome in 2020, it’s no surprise that many resolutions are geared toward getting healthier in the new year. Cauliflower Rice, Pizza Crusts, Tortillas, and more— For those that haven’t jumped on the cauliflower bandwagon yet, now is the time! This versatile veggie can be transformed into nearly anything! And since it has such a mild flavor, it takes on the taste of seasonings, herbs and other added ingredients. Since it’s natural, gluten-free and low in carbs, cauliflower is a great alternative to processed white carbs found in traditional pastas, pizza dough and more.
Sweet Potatoes — With so many varieties of potatoes, why stick to just russet? Sweet potatoes offer a totally unique taste, is low in calories and high in fiber, keeping people feeling fuller longer. So trade out those white potatoes for a sweet swap every now and then!
Sea Salt — More and more research and studies are showcasing the benefits of sea salt over processed table salt. With so many health benefits (not to mention the taste!), there’s no reason not to switch to sea salt this year.
